Wiki Loves Parliament Pakistan is an on-going project to develop and enhance the quality of Wikipedia biography pages on current members of the National Assembly of Pakistan and the Senate of Pakistan.

Background

Since 2009 ,Wikipedia editors are visiting the national parliaments of the European Union to take photographs of their members for usage on relevant Wikipedia pages. Besides the creation of Wikipedia compatible licensed photographs of politicians, the project offers the parliamentarians the opportunity to ask questions about Wikipedia and to discuss their Wikipedia biography pages. These projects have been successful, since 2009 numerous such projects have been organised and thousands of photographs were taken.

In 2014, Wikipedia editors had the opportunity to visit the European Parliament in French city of Strasbourg and perform a photography and editing project for the 764 MEP’s there. Over 50 Wikipedia editors from nine European countries, speaking 19 languages participated in this project. As a result, more than 2,000 portraits and 200 videos in 24 languages have been taken.
